This year Sieraad Art Fair celebrates its 15th edition in style, featuring a special selection from the largest ethnological jewellery collection in Holland, in collaboration with the Amsterdam Tropenmuseum, the National Museum of Ethnology in Leiden and the Africa Museum in Berg en Dal.
The fair explores different ideas about jewellery design, use of materials, techniques and inspiration.
We cannot agree more with their philosophy that seeks a dialogue with between the visitors and the artist, because buying a piece of jewellery is a fulfilling experience, going beyond the simple purchase.
The Cultuurpark Westergasfabriek is former gasworks factory now used as a cultural venue, immersed in Westerpark, one of the most beautiful parks in Amsterdam.
The Fair is hosted in the Gashouder (Gas Holder), a stunning circular building that dates back to 1885.
No worries, Westerpark is one of the most lively areas in Amsterdam, here's our tips for a bite or a drink in the surroundings:
Fish in all shapes and forms and a incredibly wide selection of different Gin (try the Dutch V2C or Bobby's Gin, or both). You can book a table directly on the Mossel & Gin website.
Only a 2-minute walk from Sieraad Art Fair.
Possibly the best pizza in town. Check their reviews on TripAdvisor and remember to book in advance, it's a small and busy place, especially around the weekend.
A 9-minute walk from Sieraad Art Fair.
Awesome craft beer made in Amsterdam! Troost sometime hosts live music and their food is also yummy (try the beef jerky marinated in their IPA).
Only 4 minutes walk away.
